Apparatus

The Big Sky Fire Department maintains a variety of apparatus necessary to meet our diverse missions, be it structural or wildland firefighting, extricating victims from automobile accidents or treating and transporting the ill and injured.

Station 1 Apparatus

Engine 1242 is a 2007 Pierce Arrow XT (refurbished in 2017) and has a 1500 gallons per minute pump and an 1800 gallon water tank.  It is BSFD’s primary response engine (until the delivery of the new Engine 1243 in 2018) and has structural / wildland firefighting equipment along with auto extrication and rescue equipment.

Engine 1241 is a 1997 Pierce Saber and has a 1250 gallons per minute pump and a 750 gallon water tank.  It is our second out engine and has structural firefighting equipment along with auto extrication and rescue equipment.
