The Big Sky Fire Department wants to reassure the community that we are still operating at full capacity and responding to emergencies normally. Since 1971, the Big Sky Fire Department (BSFD) has worked to preserve lives and property in Big Sky, Montana. We also serve the community through the promotion of fire safety through public education, inspections and construction and development review.

Only Our Best Will Do
Formed in 1971 and established as a fire district in 1979, the Big Sky Fire Department serves over 80 square miles of south central Montana in the unincorporated mountain resort area of Big Sky.

Fire Safety and Prevention
The Big Sky Fire Department takes an active role in fire safety education and prevention in our community. We perform annual fire safety inspections in all commercial occupancies and consult with property owners about fire safety in the home.

Emergency Medical Services
Big Sky Fire Department can field up to three advanced life support ambulances during peak periods to respond to medical emergencies. Learn more about our extensive training and who we work with in Gallatin County.
