Property Taxation Breakdown and Annual Budget Information

Below are the approximate property tax breakdowns, broken out by county

 

While the assessment per value of the property is the same everywhere in the Big Sky Fire District, each property has slightly different taxes attributed to them, so please refer to your tax bill for more information.

In Gallatin County, Big Sky Fire District property taxes account for roughly 7.2 cents for every taxable dollar, as shown here (click on image for a clearer version):

In Madison County, Big Sky Fire District property taxes account for roughly 13.8 cents for every taxable dollar, as shown here (click on image for a clearer version):

The Big Sky Fire District annual budget is a mix of property taxes, Big Sky Resort Area District sales tax distribution, fees for service, grants and other sources.  Currently, property taxes make up 45% of the District’s funding, as shown here (click on image for a clearer version):
